Community Guidelines for Events
We’d love for you to submit your event! To ensure our community calendar serves as a reliable and positive resource, we’ve established the following guidelines for events we will and won’t post.
Public Spring reserves the right to decline or remove any event submission that doesn’t align with our mission and guidelines.
Events We Will Post
- Community-Oriented Events: Festivals, parades, markets, fairs, and other public gatherings that celebrate the community and encourage unity.
- Educational Opportunities: Workshops, seminars, and classes that encourage learning, creativity, and personal growth.
- Cultural and Arts Events: Exhibits, performances, and creative showcases that highlight local talent and heritage.
- Nonprofit and Charity Events: Fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and other initiatives that give back to the community.
- Recreational Activities: Sporting events, outdoor adventures, and family-friendly activities.
Guidelines for Submission of Team Sporting Events:
Public Spring will promote team sports events that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Large-scale tournaments, championships, or events with regional significance.
- Community-wide sports events or festivals (e.g., charity games, season kick-offs).
- Events that encourage broader community participation, such as fan days or pep-rallies (i.e. Homecoming).
- Excluded are Routine practices, regular season games, or league schedules (e.g., little league games, weekly matches).
- Religious and Faith-Based Gatherings: Non-exclusive events that welcome community members to celebrate, learn, or reflect together.
Events We Won't Post
- Partisan Political Events: Events that endorse specific political candidates, campaigns, or parties. Activities or gatherings centered on divisive or controversial topics.
- Explicit or Harmful Content: Events promoting violence, hate speech, or other harmful behaviors. Events with explicit, harmful, or polarizing content, including but not limited to hate speech or promotion of ideologies outside the scope of our mission.
- Private or Exclusive Events: Private parties, weddings, or gatherings not intended for the broader community.
- Sales-Driven Promotions: Purely commercial events that focus solely on advertising or selling products without broader community value.
- Unverified Events: Events without sufficient details, clear organization, or proper contact information.
- Conflicting Events: Events that conflict with Public Spring’s commitment to promoting the values of our community.
